WQNY’s “Best of the Best Contest” is an online and on-air contest that will run weekdays Monday, April 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM through Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 11:59 PM.
The On-air portion of the contest will consist of questions on the following days during the Wake-Up Q show on WQNY at approximately 7:20am:
- 4/23, 4/24, 4/25, 4/26, 4/27, 4/30, 5/1, 5/2, 5/3, 5/4 during the Wake-Up Q show on WQNY at 7:20 AM
The on-air portion will consists of a question by Chris Allinger. Callers will be asked to call in at 607-257-WQNY (9769) to answer the survey question by Chris. There will be one qualifier per day for the on-air portion. The qualifier will be chosen at random and determined in the sole discretion of WQNY.
The Online portion of the contest will consist of survey questions on the following days at www.1037qcountry.com:

Online winners will be drawn at random from the previous days or weekend entries and be announced weekdays between 6A – 10A during the Wake-Up Q the first business day after the entry period has closed. To enter online, complete the registration form and answer the daily survey question. One qualifier will be chosen per day at random from the previous day’s online submission. There will be a total of ten online qualifiers. May only submit one entry form per day of the contest. If the randomly selected qualifier has qualified for the contest by other means or has been selected to qualify earlier in the contest period they may not be a second qualifier. And another qualifier will be randomly chosen. May only enter the online contest once per day. Submitting more than one entry per person per day will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified. in the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address sued to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.
This contest will have a total of 20 qualifiers. Ten from the on-air survey and ten from the online survey questions. To win the grand prize, the 20 finalists will gather at Stellas Barn (1346 Elmira Rd. Newfield NY 14867) on May 8, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM for the grand prize event. Finalists must be present to win and register at the event. The grand prize winner will be decided through a process of elimination event which will take place at the grand prize event. Rules and procedure of the grand prize drawing will be provided at the event. There may only be one finalist per household.
The Grand Prize, which one qualified entry will win, consists of:
- 7-nights all inclusive accommodations for two at Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
- roundtrip motor coach transportation between Ithaca NY and the Philadelphia International Airport for the flight to Punta Cana.
- Roundtrip coach airfare departing from the closest major airport to Punta Cana International Airport. Seats will be at the discretion of WQNY. The winner must have a valid passport for travel to international destinations.
- Roundtrip airport/resort transfers from Punta Cana International Airport to the Resort and from the Resort back to Punta Cana International Airport for departure.
- Approximate retail value is $3,198.
- One Grand Prize finalist per household.
- All WQNY Contests are open to residents of New York or Pennsylvania who are 21 years of age or older who have not won anything on WQNY in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months on WQNY or its sister stations (WYXL, WIII, WHCU, WNYY, WYXL-HD2, WFIZ, WFIZ-HD2, WYXL-HD3). Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
Employees of WQNY, Cayuga Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications of New England LLC, their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a 75 mile radius of the WQNY main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
No purchase necessary. Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash. WQNY sole responsibility will be to award the prize. WQNY shall have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use any of the prizes. Winners will be responsible for all applicable federal and state taxes. Fees and incidentals are not included and will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Incidentals include but are not limited to unpaid room service charges, phone/long distance charges, pay per view movies, etc. These and all other related or similar fees and incidentals will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
