ITHACA — Maines Food and Party Warehouse is shutting its doors in Ithaca on February 7th.

The company made the announcement Monday, saying that its store in Greece, outside of Rochester, will also be shutting down that day.

“This difficult decision was made after careful consideration,” the company said in a news release.

The company will continue to operate four other stores in Syracuse, Binghamton, Forty Fort, Pa., and Scranton, Pa.

There was no immediate word on what would happen to employees of the Ithaca store, which is located off Elmira Road.

“Maines Paper & Food Service, Inc. is 100% committed to continuing and growing our partnerships with businesses in the Greece and Ithaca markets through Maines Broadline Services,” a company statement read. “We have recently added additional sales professionals to directly support foodservice operators in these areas.”
