Madonna has been banned from a Texas-based movie theater chain after reportedly texting during the premier of “12 Years a Slave.”

The pop star was attending the premier during the New York Film Festival, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The Alamo Drafthouse theater chain has a no-texting, no-talking policy. Theater founder and CEO Tim League took to Twitter to admonish Madonna and announce her ban, saying she is no longer welcome at the chain unless she apologizes.

League has caught some grief over the Twitter post and the “ban,” but says on his Twitter account that he is merely making a point about rude behavior. “She needs better manners is all,” he tweeted.
