The Finale To An Adventure

To all my Best Friends,

Chris Allinger here…

Our adventure together reached it’s completion Friday afternoon at about 5:05 PM when I put a sore, blistered foot to the sidewalk at Wegman’s Parking lot.

Quite fitting really, because just as I finish a walk to every town in the county, Wegmans begins their Fill the Bus campaign for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.  The battle against childhood hunger continues and must continue until no child or family is left with food insecurity.

To say that our adventure was a success would be an understatement.  To say that I’m grateful for every single penny that you gave would be even more of an understatement.

I was also surprised and humbled by the proclamations by Mayor Myrick and Governor Cuomo.  The icing on the cake was the fact that it was presented by Jerry Dietz who is always an inspiration and a real icon in this community.

We’ll have money totals and much to talk about on Monday morning.  For now, please accept my thanks for caring about the children served by the magnificent Food Bank of the Southern Tier’s Backpack Program.

Chris
