ACM Flyaway Contest Rules 2016


The ACM FLYAWAY! Starting February 15th – February 26th, listen weekdays at approximately 9am for the ACM Flyaway text word.  When you hear the specified contest word you must text the correctly spelled word 77000 to enter to win $500. Text entries for each contest play will be accepted until 4PM each day of the contest. WQNY may choose to announce a contest word more than one time per day, but there is no obligation to announce the word multiple times in any single contest play or in subsequent contest plays. Message and data rates may apply. One text per play. More than entry per day will invalidate all entries by that individual.  No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted.  Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.

Participants may also sign up for the WQNY text club to receive the contest word delivered to their mobile phone at approximately 10am eastern each weekday during the contest.

After 4pm eastern, a text received by all stations will be chosen at random to win $500.  The cell phone number from the chosen text will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast.  If unable to speak with the contestant who sent the text, within 5 minutes from the time that contestant’s cell number is dialed, then the $500 prize will be forfeited and another random text will be chosen, from the selected station, until a winner is determined.  All $500 winners may qualify for the Grand Prize consisting of: a trip for 2 to the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas Friday, April 1st – Monday, April 4th including:

  • Roundtrip coach airfare for 2 from the closest major airport to Las Vegas
  • 3 nights hotel accommodations, at the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas, specifications of the accommodation at the discretion of WQNY
  • 2 tickets to the 51st ACM Awards April 3rd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, seats at the discretion of WQNY
  • 2 tickets to the ACM Party For A Cause Festival at Las Vegas Festival Grounds (Fri, 4/1- Sun, 4/3)
  • Airport and ACM Party for a Cause Shuttle Service.

Approximate retail value of grand prize package is $4,500. Trip provided by MCA Nashville.  After 4pm eastern, February 26th, 2016 a grand prize winner will be chosen at random from all the qualifiers. The winner will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast.  If unable to speak with the winner within 5 minutes from the time that contestant’s cell number is dialed, then the grand prize will be forfeited and another random winner will be chosen, until a winner is determined.  The prize is non-transferable.  If person does not meet requirements for the trip then the prize will be forfeited and another random winner will be chosen, until a winner is determined. WQNY will conduct this contest concurrently and simultaneously with radio stations affiliated with WQNY, and in various states.  Listeners of WQNY will, therefore, be competing with listeners of other radio stations to win the same prize. We will make reasonable efforts to award the prize within 30 days. WQNY’s sole responsibility is to award the prize; therefore, WQNY will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner, for any reason cannot or decides not to fly to Las Vegas, to use the hotel accommodations, or attend the show(s).  Winners will be responsible for all state and federal taxes as well as all fees and incidentals. Incidentals include but are not limited to unpaid room service charges, phone charges, movies, etc. This, and all other expenses will be the responsibility of the winner. WQNY is not responsible for any difficulties contacting WQNY or entering the contest, any malfunctions or errors, whether technical or typographical or human error, experienced due to overload, internet availability or texting server issues. Text messages are sent through third party providers; WQNY does not guarantee, and shall not be responsible for, the delivery or timeliness of any text message entry. $500 prize will be available within 10 business days. WQNY contests are open to all eligible persons in NY and Northern Pennsylvania, 18 or older who have not won any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Contest participants should not rely on streamed broadcasts as they may be delayed from the on air broadcasts.

 

Employees of WQNY, Cayuga Radio Group and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WQNY main studio are not eligible to enter or win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
