Majestic Text-It Contest Rules


WQNY’s “Majestic Text-It” is a text contest that will run from Wednesday, 4/6/16 through Wednesday 4/27/15 at (hereinafter referred to as “contest”). In which 1 entrant will win:

  • Roundtrip deluxe motor coach transportation from Ithaca to a New York City airport with driver gratuity
  • Roundtrip non-stop flights from a New York City airport to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
  • Dominican Republic Tourist Card
  • Round trip airport / resort transfers with driver gratuity
  • 7 nights 24-hour all-inclusive accommodations at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana
  • All airline taxes and fees *
  • All resort taxes, fees, and staff gratuities
  • Q Country and AAA exclusive events
  • AAA Professional Tour
  • The trip is October 22-29, 2016
  • Minimum prize value is $3,398.
  1. Each weekday at 7:20AM, Chris Allinger will announce a specific contest text word. When you hear the specified contest word for that 24 hours you must text the correctly spelled word 77000 to enter to be a qualifier. Text entries for each contest play will be accepted until 7:20AM the following day with the exception of Friday. The word announced on Friday will be accepted until 7:20AM the next Monday. WQNY may choose to announce a contest word more than one time per day, but there is no obligation to announce the word multiple times in any single contest play or in subsequent contest plays. Message and data rates may apply. One text per play.
  2. WQNY text club members may receive the contest word delivered to their mobile phone during the contest.
  3. At 7:20AM, a text received by WQNY will be chosen at random to be a qualifier. The cell phone number from the chosen text will be called and the reaction recorded for broadcast.  If unable to speak with the contestant who sent the text, within 5 minutes from the time that contestant’s cell number is dialed, then another random text will be chosen, until a winner is determined.
  4. 15 finalists plus 2 pre-qualifiers from last year’s trip will gather at Joe’s Restaurant on April 27th for the grand prize random drawing. Finalists must be present to win and register at the event. The grand prize is not transferable has no cash value. WQNY is not responsible if the winner, for any reason, cannot, or decides not to go on the trip October 22-29, 2016. The prize will not be substituted for another prize.
  5. One Grand Prize qualifier per household.

All general WQNY contest rules apply and can be viewed at 1037qcountry.com unless otherwise stated. You must be 21 or older. You have not won anything on WQNY in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WQNY, Cayuga Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications of New England LLC, their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a 75 mile radius of the WQNY main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

Oscars recognize casting for the first time, offering a spotlight on a key job in the movie industry
