A new event has been created to make sure that kids served by the Food Bank of the Southern Tier’s Backpack Program have food on weekends and holidays.

“Miles for Meals” is taking place at Barton Hall on the Cornell Campus on Sunday, January 28th at 11AM.

“Miles for Meals” is a series of 1 mile races, including a 1 mile fun run and walk.  There will also be an NFL combine type of 40 yard dash for kids and adults.  All races will be timed and there will be awards.

The entire event takes place indoors at Barton and registration is just $30. for adults and $15. for students.  You’ll receive a discount and a t-shirt if you sign up online in advance.

Proceeds go to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier’s Backpack Program which provides supplemental meals for weekends and holidays in Tompkins County schools.

You can pre-register at the door or go here.
