Starting Monday May 13th , 2024 @ 6 AM (WQNY) be starting the “Q-Nections on-air & Online Game show contest”. We will play 1 time a day, Monday Through Friday. There is no set time to play the game. Listen for your cue to call weekdays during the morning drive 6am-10am The contest starts May 13th and the prize will be drawn on May 31st. There will NOT be a contest played on Memorial Day.
There will be on air qualifiers and online qualifiers. We will have 1 qualifier on-air per day and random draw for 1 online qualifier each day. (On air contestant is not guaranteed to qualify but 1 online entrant will qualify)
How to Play on air:
On each day of the contest, host will ask for a particular number caller. The number will vary during the course of the contest.
When correct caller is identified, host will give the category and then will give the listener 3 (three) clips of Country songs with a common theme.
Category could be Artist, Place, Event, Music, Object, Lyric, etc.
The caller will have 30 seconds to identify the “Q-nection”. They have only one chance to correctly identify it.
The Q-nection must match the answer of the host.
If the contestant correctly identifies the Q-nection, they qualify for the drawing.
If they are incorrect, they can post an alternate answer online before 11:59pm on that given Day as an attempt to guess the correct answer.
You are allowed to attempt to play on-air each day until you qualify
How to play online:
Following each day’s on-air play, listeners may enter an alternative answer online, unless the on air contestant guesses correctly. If the on-air contestant guesses correctly, then listeners can go online and submit the correct answer .
If on air contestant’s answer is incorrect, then listeners can guess the “Q-nection” answer online before 11:59pm each day the game is played.
You may enter each day online unless you have already been selected as one of the online qualifiers.
If the on air qualifier answers correctly, he/she cannot enter online that day but can enter for all other days the game is played. Listeners may only qualify twice – Once per format (1 online qualifying entry and 1 on-air )
The host will randomly draw from all correct answers for an online qualifier each day of the contest except Friday May 31st.
Max number of qualifiers is 28 but total number could be less, unless all on-air contestants get the correct answer

1 winner will be selected at random from all qualifying entries to win. The contest will begin Monday, May 13th and the Grand Prize winner will be announced on May 31th.

The grand prize will be randomly drawn from all qualifiers and the morning show will give the good news to the winner live on the air. *throughout the process all qualifiers will be asked where they will be the day of the drawing on May 31th, That way once the randomly selected winner is chosen we can surprise them in person live on air.
Must be 21+ to enter. You may enter online each day but may only qualify one time from online entries and 1 time from an on-air entry. Two qualifying entries per household, Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participants entries and that participant may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the email address sued to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.
WQNY contests are open to all eligible New York State and Pennsylvania State residents 21 or older have not won anything on the above-mentioned stations in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
Employees of WQNY Cayuga Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the above mentioned Stations main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
No purchase necessary. Prize is not redeemable or transferable for cash. Cayuga Radio Group’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize and shall have no further responsibility if the prize winner for any reason cannot or decides not to use any of the prize. Winner responsible for all applicable federal and state taxes. Fees and incidentals are not included with the prize and are the sole responsibility of the winner.
