Starting Friday April 4th , 2025 @ 6 AM (WQNY) be starting the “The Cabo Quiz on-airshow contest”. We will play 1 time a day, Monday Through Friday.  There is no set time to play the game. Listen for your cue to call weekdays The contest starts April 4th and the prize will be drawn on April 24th. 

There will be only on air qualifiers We will have 1 contestant on-air per day (On air contestant is not guaranteed to qualify)

Game is played once each weekday during the Wake up Q

Chris will give the best estimate of the time each day for the next play. 

The Cabo Quiz Secret Word is new each day and given at about 6:10 each morning.

The Secret Word can be repeated multiple times before the actual contest time.

Total of 15 games will be played meaning that there will be no more than 15 people in the grand prize drawing but if all qualifiers double their entry via catching Chris saying the secret word during their time of play, there would be 30 entries in the drawing plus the free entry given on the trip last year.

Total possible number of entries:  31

Total number of individual qualifiers 16

How to Play on air:

Each weekday, Chris will give you the time the game will be played and the “Cabo Quiz Secret Word”.  Then when it’s time to play, Chris will ask you three questions – get just two of them right and you go to the grand prize drawing!  AND if you catch Chris saying the secret word during the game you could get an extra entry and double your chance of winning!

A new  secret word will be announced each day a couple of times before the daily game is played. The purpose of the keyword is for the listener to know what it is so that during the time of play Chris will use that word during the game and if they catch Chris saying the word they get a bonus entry no matter if they succeed at the game or not

You are allowed to attempt to play on-air each day until you qualify

1 person per household may qualify and if during the game they catch Chris saying the secret word of the day they will gain a bonus entry.  for a max of 2 entries per household via only 1 qualifier.

Max number of qualifiers is 16 but total number could be less, unless all on-air contestants get the correct answer. The total number of possible entries is 31 unless contestants miss the bonus entry during their time of play.

The grand prize will be drawn from all qualifiers and the morning show will give the good news to the winner live on the air. *throughout the process all qualifiers will be asked where they will be the day of the drawing on April 24 2025, That way once the randomly selected winner is chosen we can surprise them in person live on air.

Must be 21+ to enter. You may attempt to play daily but can only qualify one time.  Two qualifying entries per household, Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participants entries and that participant may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the email address sued to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.

WQNY contests are open to all eligible New York State and Pennsylvania State residents 21 or older have not won anything on the above-mentioned stations in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WQNY Cayuga Media Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the above mentioned Stations  main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
