Got Backpack?

For 4 years you supported Chris Allinger as he walked across Tompkins County for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier’s Backpack Program to ensure that children in this county would have food for weekends and holidays simply because for so many of them, there isn’t anything to eat otherwise.

You heard the message that just $3.00 means a child will have food for the weekend.

Chris said that last year was the final year for “Walkin’ The Country”, but the need still exists.

And so this year we’re inaugurating “2 Steps To Fight Hunger”, presented by the Tompkins Trust Company,to continue to fund this amazing program for our County.

Step 2 is Sunday October 2nd, Q Country presents “A Walk In The Country” at Treman State Park, presented on Q Country by CSP Management.  Together we’ll hike the trail from lower to upper Treman and back down.  There’ll be food and Tink Bennett and Tailor Made will be playing at the North Pavilion at the end of our walk and Chris will be cooking up free hot dogs for everybody!  It’ll be a Picnic/Party in the Park celebrating the completion of our 2 Steps to Fight Hunger!

EVERY PENNY goes to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier to support the Backpack Program RIGHT HERE in Tompkins County.  That couldn’t happen without the support of our amazing sponsors:
