NEWFIELD — Eight people have been arrested in the town of Newfield for a meth operation.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says multiple law enforcement agencies searched three homes Wednesday night at 36 Bishop Road, 106 Ward Heights North, and 712 Ward Blvd. East in Newfield.
Authorities found meth and the items used to make the drug in those locations. The group of people arrested; three women and five men, were all from Newfield.
Some have been released after receiving lesser charges, while a few are being held in the Tompkins County Jail on bail.
Members from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, Ithaca City Police Department, New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, Special Operation Response Team, and Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team were involved in the drug investigation.

Louis Parker, also known as Steve, age 44, has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd class AII Felony, Unlawful Manufacturing Methamphetamine 3rdClass D Felony, Criminal Nuisance 2nd Class B Misdemeanor and Conspiracy 2nd Class B Felony. He was arraigned February 18th, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
Corey Woodward, age 29, has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Class AII Felony, Unlawful Manufacturing Methamphetamine 3rd Class D Felony and Conspiracy 2nd Class B Felony. He was arraigned February 18th, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
Amanda Chaffee, age 32, has been charged with Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Class A Misdemeanor and Conspiracy 2nd Class B Felony. She was arraigned February 18th, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or $20,000.00 bond.
Thomas Chaffee, age 52, has been charged with Criminal Possession of Meth Manufacturing Material 2nd Class A Misdemeanorand Conspiracy 2nd Class B Felony. He was arraigned February 18th, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
Debra Buck, also known as Debra Miller, age 52, has been charged with Criminal Possession of Meth Manufacturing Material 2nd Class A Misdemeanor and Conspiracy 2nd Class B Felony. She was arraigned February 18th, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $2,500.00 cash bail or $5,000.00 bond.
Kenneth Benjamin, age 36, has been charged with AUO 2ndUnclassified Misdemeanor. He was release at the Ithaca City Court on February 18, 2016.
Katie Adams, age 33, has been arrested for Criminal Possession of Meth Manufacturing Material 2nd Class A Misdemeanor. She was arraigned on February 18, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and released to Day Reporting.
William Pelto, age 30, has been charges with Criminal Possession of Meth Manufacturing Material 2nd Class A Misdemeanor. He was arraigned February 18th, 2016 at the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $2,500.00 cash bail or $5,000.00 bond.
