AUBURN — Multiple incidents at the Auburn Correctional Facility in central New York have led to a lockdown all this week.
Officials with the state Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association say the Auburn Correctional Facility was put in a lockdown Monday morning, which has lasted through the week.
They say the trouble started Sunday morning when guards found a 6-inch ice pick on the floor of a cell.
Another inmate is accused of punching an officer in the mouth, and another in the eye, after guards found he was carrying synthetic marijuana.
Similar incidents on Monday, involving a fight where an aluminum can lid was found, and involving attacks on officers, led to the lockdown, which is the second in five months at the facility.
Back in March, the facility was locked down for a week due to multiple incidents.
