Car totaled, driver seriously injured after Route 13 accident

ALPINE JUNCTION — Police are still investigating a crash on Route 13 Tuesday morning that sent one person to the hospital.

Police say the accident happened along the highway near Alpine Junction around 8 a.m., when a UPS tractor trailer hit a car heading southbound. The roof of the car was ripped off in the crash, and police say the person inside was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic was blocked for hours along Route 13 as the accident scene was cleaned up. There’s no update so far on the condition of the driver.
