Cornell appoints new dean to College of Arts and Sciences

ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – There’s a new leader at the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University.

Provost Michael Kotlikoff says Dr. Peter Loewen has been appointed the Harold Tanner Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, effective August 1. The Cornell Chronicle reports Loewen is currently the director of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.

His five-year appointment was approved on Thursday by the executive committee of Cornell’s Board of Trustees.
