Cortland County extends emergency order

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cortland County is extending an emergency order about asylum seekers.

Legislative Clerk Savannah Hempstead says the order is being stretched for five more days. The original action was set to expire today.

Anyone caught transporting or housing asylum seekers faces fines of up to $2,000.

Tioga County extended their emergency order for another five days on Thursday.
