Cortland FD: Building fire on Main St. ‘intentional’

CORTLAND, N.Y (WHCU) — A fire in Cortland has been declared intentional.

Firefighters were called to a blaze at a building on Main Street shortly before 5:30 this morning and saw smoke coming from the roof. Once firefighters made their way inside, they say they found someone on the second floor reportedly using a barbeque grill in a bedroom–that person is described as a transient.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
