Cortland mayor says 4-5 years before city’s finances recover

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The city of Cortland faces a bleak financial future. 

Mayor Scott Steve says he inherited a lot of problems. 

The mayor says the Common Council is looking at a ‘bare bones’ budget for 2024. They’re also discussing new contracts. 

Cortland is currently under a hiring freeze.
