CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Wickwire Pool will re-open today.

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Wickwire Pool is remaining closed this weekend after threats were alleged made against lifeguards.

According to the Cortland Youth Bureau, there has been an “overwhelming lack of respect for the facility” and their lifeguards. The decision was made to close the pool early Friday and keep it closed at least through the weekend.

“We will continue to close the pool until the staff and facility are treated with the respect they deserve,” the bureau concluded in a Facebook post.

It was shared by Cortland Mayor Scott Steve.
