NICHOLS, N.Y. (WHCU) — An online fundraiser has raised nearly three times the goal for the Tioga Downs Horsemen.

Shortly after a horse barn at the casino was burned down Thursday, a GoFundMe page was set up for $50,000. As of 5:30 Monday morning, over $143,000 has been raised by over 1,100 donors.

More than two dozen horses were killed, and state police say 32-year-old Boyd Fenton purposefully set the blaze. The fundraiser exceeded the goal within a few hours of its creation.
