DRYDEN, N.Y. (WHCU) – Out of an abundance of caution today, officials in the Dryden Central School District locked down the Middle and High school building.
District officials say a threat made between students prompted the lockdown. There was no outside security threat to students, and the lockdown was initiated to best protect all students until the involved parties could be located.
The school did call in law enforcement for assistance.
In a statement, Superintendent Joshua Bacigalupi says the students are safe and secure and while movement in the buildings has been restricted, instruction inside the classrooms is continuing today.
