The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on State Route 414 in the Town of Hector around 10:00 PM Saturday.
An initial investigation showed the driver of the vehicle, 23-year old Dewey Herren of Valois, was traveling south on State Route 414 when he critically struck a pedestrian identified as 30-year old Timothy Kamanga of Bennettsburg. The Burdett Fire Department, Schuyler Ambulance and the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit were also on scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time
