The former head of Homer’s Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is being charged with stealing money from school accounts.

Police arrested Kurt Kleefeld on Friday after a nearly three-month investigation revealed almost twelve thousand dollars missing from the PTO account.

Police say several thefts took place between December 2012 and August 2014. Kleefeld was president of the PTO during that period.

Kleefeld was charged with fraud and grand larceny. He will appear in court later this month.
