Homelessness still being investigated in Ithaca, says mayor

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The city of Ithaca is still keeping a sharp eye on homelessness. 

Mayor Laura Lewis calls the issue “incredibly complex.”  

Lewis adds homelessness is not a crime, although camping in the city is not permitted. The Common Council is looking at potentially building showers, toilets, and other services for the city’s homeless population.
