IPD believes Spencer Road stabbing victim was targeted

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Ithaca Police Department (IPD) is searching for a suspect in a violent crime.

IPD was dispatched to the 600 block of Spencer Road around 11:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, for a reported stabbing. Officers located a victim in a multiple-dwelling home who was bleeding heavily and provided emergency medical assistance. The victim was transported to a regional trauma center and is expected to survive. Authorities believe the victim was targeted by the suspect, who fled prior to police arrival. IPD does not believe the stabbing is related to another crime that happened in the city around the same time.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact IPD.
