The site of a shuttered juvenile detention center in the town of Lansing is up for sale, and town officials are looking at potential buyers.

Our media partner, the Lansing Star Online, reports that local officials and community members recently took a tour of the Lansing Girls Residential Center.

The campus was put up for sale this year.

The center closed last year under pressure from New York City to bring facilities closer to the residents’ families.

Lansing town board members were joined by priests from a local church and a school representative in a tour of the property.
