Massachusetts company acquires Ithaca business in $230M deal

A Massachusetts company has acquired a growing Ithaca business, in a $230 million deal announced this week.

M/A-COM Technology Solutions has acquired BinOptics Corporation in an all-cash transaction.

May-com describes itself as a supplier of analog R-F, microwave and millimeter wave products.

BinOptics works in the field of semi-conductor lasers for the telecom and datacom industries. They are based in the Cornell Business and Technology Park

The companies expect to close the deal in the first quarter of 2015.
