SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 28-year-old Syracuse man led police on two-county chase on Interstate 81 before he was caught on foot in the city.

State police say Nigel David was driving north around 6 p.m. Monday when troopers attempted to pull his vehicle over in the town of Cortlandville in Cortland County. Troopers say David failed to comply and continued north on I-81 into the Onondaga County town of Lafayette, where he hit another vehicle.

Police say the other driver wasn’t injured.

David exited the highway in Syracuse, where he pulled into a gas station and fled on foot before being caught after a short chase.

The charges against him include reckless endangerment and fleeing a police officer. David is being arraigned Tuesday morning. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
