Schuyler County traffic stop leads to arrest of 3 from Tompkins County

CAYUTA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Three people from Tompkins County are facing drug charges in Schuyler County. 

Deputies pulled a car over around 2:30 Thursday morning on Route 13 in the town of Cayuta. Officers say a search of the vehicle uncovered several different drugs, including meth and cocaine, and some drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Zane Kotmel of Ithaca, 23-year-old Rayquan Brooks of Newfield, and 19-year-old Mariah Scutt-Cornell of Brooktondale were charged with several drug-related felonies and misdemeanors.

A fourth person, 19-year-old Kanye Rouse of Elmira, was also charged.
