Second murder trial starts in Ithaca for Nagee Green

ITHACA — A man accused of stabbing and killing an Ithaca College student is back in court as his retrial begins this week.

23-year-old Nagee Green was first charged with murder and assault following the death of Ithaca College student Anthony Nazaire during a brawl on the Cornell University campus. In Green’s first trial earlier this year, he was found guilty by a jury of assault for stabbing Nazaire’s friend Raheim Williams multiple times, but the jury deadlocked on the murder charge.

Prosecutors said earlier this month that they still believe Green killed Nazaire, and while they don’t plan to present new evidence they hope the second jury will be able to look at the case in a different way. Opening statements in the new trial were made on Thursday morning.
