SUNY Cortland coach reacts to record-breaking baseball contract

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — A local college coach is reacting to the biggest contract in American sports history.

Shohei Ohtani signed a $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. SUNY Cortland Baseball Coach Joe Brown says big spending doesn’t guarantee success.

 

“Five of the highest payroll teams last year in Major League Baseball didn’t make the playoffs,” he says.

The Dodgers are seeking their eighth World Series title.
