Suspect in Ithaca shootings in custody, charged with attempted murder

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A suspect in a shooting incident that happened last month in Downtown Ithaca is in custody.

19-year-old Qaron Maye was turned over to Ithaca Police for an active arrest warrant after a traffic stop Thursday night in Cortland County. Maye was allegedly involved in the shooting of two people on East State Street near the Ithaca Commons on July 29. Maye has been charged with attempted second-degree murder. The investigation is ongoing.

The Ithaca Police Department asks anyone who has information about the shootings to contact them, adding that tips can be shared anonymously.
