Syracuse man facing drug charges in Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A traffic stop has led to felony charges for a man in the City of Cortland.

Cortland Police on patrol pulled a car over on Main Street around 10 p.m. on Sunday. A passenger, Carmen Salva, of Syracuse, allegedly had cocaine, meth, scales, and packaging material on him. The estimated street value of the drugs was around $7,000. The driver was found to be operating on a suspended license and ticketed.

Salva is charged with drug possession, drug possession with intent to sell, and two misdemeanors of criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Salva will appear in Cortland City Court on Jan 24.
