ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A special meeting of TCAT’s Board of Directors will focus on the purchase of new buses.

They’re looking to buy five diesel buses from Gillig, a California-based company. The pending vote comes after TCAT decided last month to pull all eight electric buses from the road over safety concerns.

Acting GM Matthew Rosenbloom-Jones says he hopes adding a new round of diesel buses will boost reliability. TCAT’s board meets next Friday afternoon, April 12.
