Three charged in Cortland smoke shop investigation

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — An investigation into a Cortland smoke shop has ended with the arrests of three people.

Police used a search warrant at the Daily Grind South on Main Street and seized over 140 phony tax stamps. Authorities were initially investigating allegations that marijuana was being sold to underage customers.

33-year-old Maher Kahtan Ahmed, 35-year-old Jabar Katan Ahmed, and 39-year-old Mohammed Katan Ahmed were charged with possession of a forged instrument and conspiracy.
