VARNA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Varna Volunteer Fire Company is receiving recognition.

The group has been named the ‘Fire Department of the Year’ by the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response. In a Facebook post, the fire company called the award an “incredible honor.”

Varna has nearly 60 volunteer members.
