CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — There’s a new Mexican restaurant in the Crown City.

Veracruzana opened Sunday on Port Watson Street. Owner Moises Guevara tells WHCU the eatery is partly staffed by former workers from Garcia’s.

Garcia’s served tacos and enchiladas on Main Street until a fire shut down the restaurant in March 2023. Guevara says feedback at Veracruzana has been “very good” so far.

The restaurant is open Wednesday through Monday from 8 AM to 8 PM.
