Victim of car-pedestrian accident over weekend identified

The victim of Sunday’s car-pedestrian accident in Dryden has been identified by local police.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department reports 20-year-old Kaila Mae Baraby of Dryden was walking along Route 13 at around 11 p.m. Sunday night when she was hit by a car traveling north. Baraby was taken to a hospital in Syracuse, where she was later pronounced dead.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police are currently investigating the incident. No suspects have been named, and no charges have been filed so far.
