WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WHCU) – One man in Schuyler County is recovering after being struck by a tractor-trailer.

Security cameras show the man attempting to cross in front of a truck stopped at a red light on March 14, 2023. He was not in a crosswalk and entered the roadway between two parked cars before being hit as the light turns green. The truck driver never saw the man and didn’t know the accident occurred.

Investigators with the Watkins Glen Police Department were able to determine there was no way the driver could have seen the man cross in front of him. No citations were issued to the driver or the pedestrian after authorities spoke with the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office.
