ITHACA —  A woman was airlifted to a hospital last night after falling into a creek in the City of Ithaca.

Ithaca Fire officials say a woman fell into the creek below the bridge on Clinton Street, near the Ithaca Police Station.

The woman was carried across the creek and out to an ambulance. She was taken to Cass Park where a helicopter landed and flew her to a regional trauma center.

Officials say she had serious injuries. IPD is investigating the cause of the fall.

This incident happened shortly after a fire on North Quarry Street, which IFD says was most likely caused by a “carelessly discarded cigarette.”
