Woman rescued from nature preserve in Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – One woman is recovering thanks to efforts from law enforcement in Tompkins County.

Around 7:40 a.m. on August 3rd, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from DEC Forest Rangers to help locate a missing person. The unidentified 46-year-old was thought to be lost in the Thayer Preserve Lick Brook on Sandbank Road in Ithaca.

She was found after an hour of searching. Rangers carried the woman out of the woods to the ambulance, where she was transported to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment.
