BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — Binghamton’s mayor is condemning a group attack.

Mayor Jared Kraham says a 45-year-old Binghamton man was found Monday unconscious on a sidewalk. Police say five teenagers severely beat the man.

Four boys, ages 14 and 15, have been charged with attempted murder. The 5th suspect, who’s 13, has been released to his guardian but may also face charges.

Kraham calls the assault ‘abhorrent’ and ‘heinous.’ The victim has died from his injuries. A GoFundMe page has already surpassed a $12,000 goal to help pay for funeral expenses.
