AUBURN, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man is facing a felony rape charge.

On October 5, deputies arrested 20-year-old Luke Cross following a seven-month investigation.

In March 2026, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office received allegations that Cross, who was 19 at the time, was having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

Cross was arraigned on second-degree rape and remanded to Cayuga County Jail on $1,500 cash bail, which he has since posted. He is scheduled to appear in Auburn City Court at a later date.

A judge has granted the victim a full stay-away order of protection.

Anyone with information relevant to this incident is asked to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at (315) 253-1222 or submit a tip online.
