UPDATE: Authorities locate missing 10-year-old in Ulysses

UPDATE 3/5 – Joanne has been located safely off of Rabbit Run Road near Trumansburg, per the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

ULYSSES, NY (607NewsNow) – The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing child.

On March 5, deputies responded to the 5000 block of Cold Springs Road in Ulysses for a missing 10-year-old, Joanne Washburn.

According to Sheriff Derek Osborne, Washburn’s parents reported not finding her in her room this morning around 6 a.m., after last seeing her at approximately 6 p.m. last night.

Joanne is believed to be wearing a blue jacket, gray and blue boots, and may be carrying a purple backpack with yellow strings. A witness reported possibly seeing a child matching Joanne’s description walking along Trumansburg Road around 1 a.m. this morning.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are currently searching the area.
