CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland native continues to make waves in the NFL.

The Cleveland Browns have requested to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher for their head coaching vacancy.

The news was first reported on X by The Athletic’s Diana Russini. The Browns fired former head coach Kevin Stefanski on January 5.

Pitcher, himself a standout quarterback at SUNY Cortland from 2009 to 2011, has been with Cincy since 2016, including the last two years as offensive coordinator, and the prior three years as the QB coach. He helped lead the Bengals to the Super Bowl in 2022.

Pitcher is interviewing with the Browns on Friday.
