BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — A Binghamton man is under arrest for a hate crime.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says James Crosby was arrested Tuesday on a charge of making a terroristic threat. Crosby, who’s 49 and a contractor in Binghamton, responded to a post from State Sen. Lea Webb on Juneteenth that he would “be proud to hang her from a tree.”

The charge against Crosby is a felony.
