BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — Binghamton is bolstering its police department.

Last week, Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham welcomed 20 new police recruits. Kraham said the department is on pace to be fully staffed later this year.

“That’s a major win for the department and an even bigger win for Binghamton’s neighborhoods,” he said.

Kraham said the city is working to build a “brighter, safer future.”
