NEWFIELD, NY (607NewsNow) – No injuries were reported after a crash in Newfield.

On March 3, Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Route 13 near Connecticut Hill Road around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle accident with an animal. The investigation determined that a 2010 Honda Fit struck a cow in the roadway.

Deputies had to put the cow down as a humanitarian measure, according to Tompkins County Undersheriff Jennifer Olin.
