Career law enforcement officer with Homer, Groton, Cortland County, passes away

HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – The Homer Police Department mourns the loss of a longtime member.

On January 19, Thomas Huttleston passed away after an extended illness.

Officer Huttleston served more than 20 years with Homer PD, and his career in local law enforcement spanned 55 years, previously serving with the Groton Police Department and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Huttleston was also a union electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 43 for many years. He was 81.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 6, at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home in Homer. Contributions can be made to the Police Benevolent Association of New York (PBANYS) in lieu of flowers.
