CAROLINE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Caroline woman is moving forward after settling a lawsuit against a neighbor.

Amanda David and her family will receive a $100,000 settlement after three years of alleged harassment, including racial slurs and threats.

The lawsuit, filed by CNY Fair Housing in June 2024, stemmed from incidents involving David’s neighbor, Robert Whittaker Jr. That same month, David sat down with WHCU/607 This Morning’s Joe Salzone to discuss the ordeal and lawsuit. After multiple arrests and protection orders, Whittaker was ultimately sentenced to a year in jail after shooting out a light on David’s property with a pellet gun.

According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Whittaker is not admitting liability, despite agreeing to the settlement.
