Pet euthanized after domestic incident in Southport

SOUTHPORT, NY (607NewsNow) – A Southport man is facing a felony after an argument.

On March 24, Chemung County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Southport for a domestic dispute.

Glen Dennery, 50, is accused of striking the family cat multiple times with a broomstick during the ordeal. Animal Control took custody of the cat, which needed to be euthanized as a result of its injuries.

Dennery is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
